NFL Recent Player News
|12/13/2017||LeSean McCoy, Buf, RB|
|An apparent knee issue limited McCoy in practice Wednesday.
Analysis: This might just be a precaution, but obviously worth monitoring for his fantasy owners who are still in the playoffs.
|12/13/2017||K.J. Wright, Sea, LB|
|Wright (concussion) missed practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Wright is second on the Seahawks with 94 tackles.
|12/13/2017||Devin Funchess, Car, WR|
|Funchess (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Funchess has notched a touchdown in each of the last two weeks, giving him four in four games. He has only had one 100-yard game this season and another is unlikely since his targets have been mostly steady around six or seven.
|12/13/2017||Cam Newton, Car, QB|
|Newton was limited in practice on Wednesday due to a sore shoulder.
Analysis: He's been dealing with this issue for much of the season. There's no way Newton is going to miss this weekend's game.
|12/13/2017||Adam Thielen, Min, WR|
|Thielen was limited Wednesday due to a knee injury.
Analysis: Thielen has been outstanding for the Vikings, so this has to be a concern. He has 37 catches for 632 yards and four scores in his last six games.
|12/13/2017||Jerick McKinnon, Min, RB|
|McKinnon was limited in practice on Wednesday due to a sore shoulder.
Analysis: McKinnon didn't see much action in the second half on Sunday and this could be the reason why. Keep an eye on this situation.
|12/13/2017||Kyle Rudolph, Min, TE|
|Rudolph did not practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
Analysis: Rudolph apparently was injured late in Week 14 and was in a walking boot afterwards. He could be in jeopardy of sitting out this weekend.
|12/13/2017||Mike Wallace, Bal, WR|
|Wallace did not practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
Analysis: Wallace has shown signs of life of late, totaling 13 catches for 236 yards in his last three games while being targeted 24 times.
|12/13/2017||Mike Davis, Sea, RB|
|Davis is practicing Wednesday despite dealing with injured ribs.
Analysis: Davis has carried the load for the Seahawks the past two weeks, so this is a situation worth keeping an eye on.
|12/12/2017||Kenny Britt, NE, WR|
|Less than a week after being released by the Browns, Britt has agreed to a two-year contract with the Patriots.
Analysis: Britt goes from the outhouse to the penthouse in a matter of days, with the Patriots the latest team to attempt to resurrect the disappointing wide receiver's career. After eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark during a comeback 2016 campaign with the Rams, the 29-year-old produced just 18 catches for 233 yards and two touchdowns in nine games with Cleveland. He'll still start out behind Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan and possibly Danny Amendola on the Pats' depth chart.
|12/12/2017||Byron Marshall, Was, RB|
|The Redskins have placed Marshall on IR due to a hamstring injury.|
|12/12/2017||Tevin Coleman, Atl, RB|
|Coleman not not practice Tuesday because of a concussion and his status is questionable for Monday night against in Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Coleman has seen his usage decrease significantly since Devonta Freeman has returned from his concussion, totaling 20 offensive touches for 81 scrimmage yards in the last two games, so he may not have much more value anyway.
|12/11/2017||Jeremy Maclin, Bal, WR|
|Jeremy Maclin had three receptions for 27 yards Sunday in the Baltimore Ravens' 39-38 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.|
|12/11/2017||Javorius Allen, Bal, RB|
|Javorius Allen ran for 25 yards and two touchdowns on six carries Sunday in the Baltimore Ravens' 39-38 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He added two receptions for 32 yards.
Analysis: There was a Buck Allen sighting. It appears Allen is a more favorable offensive option than Danny Woodhead at this point.
|12/11/2017||Ben Roethlisberger, Pit, QB|
|Roethlisberger was 44 of 66 for 506 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the Pittsburgh Steelers' 39-38 win over the Baltimore Ravens. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked three times. Roethlisberger added five rushing yards on one carry.
Analysis: Big Ben became the first quarterback in NFL history to top 500 yards passing three times. His 66 attempts also are a career high.
|12/11/2017||Eli Rogers, Pit, WR|
|Eli Rogers had three receptions for 33 yards Sunday in the Pittsburgh Steelers' 39-38 win over the Baltimore Ravens.|
|12/11/2017||Jesse James, Pit, TE|
|Jesse James had 10 receptions for 97 yards Sunday in the Pittsburgh Steelers' 39-38 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Analysis: The third-year pro set career highs in both receptions and yards in this contest. It helps when your QB throws the ball 66 times.
|12/11/2017||Justin Tucker, Bal, K|
|Justin Tucker converted his lone field-goal attempt Sunday - a 47-yarder - as the Baltimore Ravens lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 39-38. Tucker tacked on five PATs.|
|12/11/2017||Danny Woodhead, Bal, RB|
|Danny Woodhead ran for seven yards on two carries Sunday in the Baltimore Ravens' 39-38 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He added four receptions for 29 yards.|
|12/11/2017||Chris Boswell, Pit, K|
|Chris Boswell converted four of four field-goal attempts Sunday as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens 39-38. He made kicks of 45, 43, 24 and 46 yards. Boswell tacked on three PATs.
Analysis: Boswell made a 46-yard field goal with 42 seconds left for the winner. It was the fourth time in the last five games that a late Boswell field goal gave Pittsburgh a win.
