George returns to Indy, helps OKC win

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Paul George made a winning return to Indiana, hitting the clinching free throws with 10.7 seconds left in the Oklahoma City Thunder's 100-95 victory over the Pacers on Wednesday night.

Steven Adams had 23 points and 13 rebounds and Russell Westbrook finished with 10 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists in his ninth triple-double this season. The Thunder have won two straight on the road.

Victor Oladipo led the Pacers with 19 points and Bojan Bogdanovic scored 15. Indiana had a chance to tie the score after getting the ball back with 15.2 seconds left but committed a turnover and then fouled George.

Wall back as Wizards defeat Grizzlies

WASHINGTON (AP) Bradley Beal scored 18 points and John Wall had 13 in his return from a sore knee to help the Washington Wizards hold off the Memphis Grizzlies 93-87 on Wednesday night.

Beal scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, hitting three 3-pointers. Otto Porter Jr. added 14 points, and Marcin Gortat had 12.

Irving's 33 lift Celtics past Nuggets

BOSTON (AP) Kyrie Irving had 33 points and the Boston Celtics held on for a 124-118 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.

Irving added seven assists. It was his eighth game this season with 30 or more points. Jaylen Brown finished with 26 points and five rebounds.

Lillard rallies Trail Blazers past Heat

MIAMI (AP) The Trail Blazers and Heat began the night with identical records of 13-13, so a close game was to be expected.

For Damian Lillard to take over down the stretch was also no surprise.

Williams, Jordan lead Clippers by Magic

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Lou Williams scored 31 points, DeAndre Jordan had 16 points and 20 rebounds and the Los Angeles Clippers opened a four-game road trip with a 106-95 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

The Clippers shot 54 percent in the second half to win their third straight in a matchup of injury-riddled teams.

Cousins, Davis power Pelicans by Bucks

NEW ORLEANS (AP) DeMarcus Cousins had 26 points and 13 rebounds and the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Milwaukee Bucks 115-108 on Wednesday night.

The Pelicans turned the ball over 21 times, with nine committed by Cousins, but the mercurial All-Star center came through in the clutch with a couple of soaring dunks - one on a putback and another on a cut down the lane - and added a 3-pointer with 22 seconds left that put it virtually out of reach.

Jazz G Hood back against Bulls

CHICAGO (AP) Utah Jazz guard Rodney Hood has returned after he was sidelined for seven games with left ankle soreness.

Hood entered Wednesday night's game at Chicago as a reserve. The 6-foot-3 Hood is averaging 17.7 points in 18 games this season.

Indianapolis to host 2021 All-Star Game

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Larry Bird's final drive through New York City paid off Wednesday.

Seven months after the NBA Hall of Famer hand delivered the Indiana Pacers' All-Star bid at league headquarters in an IndyCar, Commissioner Adam Silver returned the favor by showing up at Bankers Life Fieldhouse to announce the league's big midseason bash was coming back to Indianapolis in February 2021.

PHOENIX (AP) The Phoenix Suns have signed guard Isaiah Canaan after receiving an injury hardship exemption from the NBA.

Canaan will be available Wednesday night against the Toronto Raptors.

Mavs top Spurs, spoil Leonard's debut

DALLAS (AP) Kawhi Leonard strolled to the locker room late in third quarter, just as J.J. Barea was starting a Dallas rally that spoiled the season debut of San Antonio's star forward.

The minutes restriction was up for Leonard after he missed the first 27 games with a right quadriceps injury, so there wasn't anything he could do in the fourth quarter about Barea and the last-place Mavericks ending another four-game winning streak for the Spurs.
