6/26/2017 Marc Methot, Dal, D
The Stars acquired Methot in a trade with the Vegas Golden Knights. Dallas sent goaltending prospect Dylan Ferguson and a 2020 second-round pick to Vegas. The teams announced the deal Monday, less than a week since the Golden Knights took Methot in the expansion draft from the Ottawa Senators.

Analysis: Methot has two years left on his contract at a salary-cap hit of $4.9 million. He has 120 points in 579 games over 11 seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Senators. Methot was Erik Karlsson's defense partner in Ottawa and had 12 assists in 68 games last season.
6/26/2017 Nail Yakupov, StL, RW
The St. Louis Blues opted against extending a qualifying offer to Yakupov on Monday, making the top overall pick of the 2012 draft an unrestricted free agent.

Analysis: Yakupov collected just nine points (three goals, six assists) in 40 games last season after spending four years with the Edmonton Oilers.
6/26/2017 Zack Kassian, Edm, RW
Kassian and the Oilers have agreed to terms on a three-year contract worth $5.85 million.

Analysis: The rugged wing posted seven goals and 17 assists in 79 regular-season games in 2016-17 before contributing three more goals during Edmonton's run to the Western Conference semfinals. Kassian's best attribute is his physicality, as he racked up a career-high 201 hits last season and has eclipsed 100 penalty minutes in three of the past four campaigns.
6/26/2017 Taylor Fedun, Buf, D
Fedun has re-signed with the Sabres on a two-year, two-way contract.

Analysis: The 29-year-old had seven assists while playing in a career-high 27 games at the NHL level last season. Fedun has 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists) in 39 games with the Sabres, Edmonton, San Jose and Vancouver.
6/26/2017 Korbinian Holzer, Anh, D
The Ducks and Holzer have agreed to terms on a two-year contract.

Analysis: The restricted free agent served mainly as a depth defenseman during Anaheim's run to the Western Conference finals, appearing in 32 regular-season games and five playoff contests. He'll likely resume that role again in 2017-18.
6/26/2017 Esa Lindell, Dal, D
The Stars have re-signed Lindell to a two-year, $4.4 million contract.

Analysis: Lindell had six goals and 18 points in 73 games during his first full NHL season last year.
6/26/2017 Antti Niemi, Dal, G
The Stars have placed Niemi on waivers with the intention of buying out the final year of his contract.

Analysis: Niemi is due to make $4.5 million next season, and would be bought out at $3 million spread over two years. The ninth-year player, who won a Stanley Cup with Chicago in 2010, is coming off a disappointing season in which he went 12-12-4 and had a 3.3 goals-against average in 37 games. He became the odd-man out in Dallas behind Kari Lehtonen and after Ben Bishop was acquired in a trade last month.
6/26/2017 Andrej Sustr, TB, D
The Lightning and Sustr have agreed on a $1.95 million salary for the upcoming season.

Analysis: A restricted free agent, Sustr has been a mainstay in the Lightning's defense corps for the last three seasons, averaging 76 games during that period. The 26-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
6/26/2017 Derek Ryan, Car, C
The Hurricanes agreed to terms with Ryan on a one-year contract worth $1.425 million on Monday.

Analysis: Ryan, 30, established NHL career highs in goals (11), assists (18) and points (29) in 2016-17. He led the Hurricanes in shooting percentage (14.1) and was tied for fourth on the team in power-play goals (four) and eighth in power-play points (eight).
